Our Mission

The Motherhouse Collective envisions a world where mothers no longer have to choose between their personal well-being, family fulfillment, and professional aspirations. This pioneering organization aims to create a holistic ecosystem that nurtures every aspect of a mother's life—whether she is pursuing a career or dedicating her time to children at home.

At the heart of this vision is the creation of a supportive, inclusive community that serves mothers in all walks of life. Whether managing the demands of a career or dedicating time to parenting full-time, every mother deserves access to resources, knowledge, and emotional support. The Collective seeks to empower both working mothers and stay-at-home mothers by providing them with the tools to thrive in their roles, bridge personal and parental responsibilities, and, ultimately, live fulfilling, balanced lives.

Through innovative programming and flexible childcare solutions, the Motherhouse Collective aims to redefine societal expectations and support systems for all mothers. By creating a space where both working and stay-at-home mothers feel seen, valued, and supported, the Collective strives to alleviate the pressures and challenges that arise in the modern journey of motherhood.

Addressing the Mental Health

Crisis for Mothers

Shining a light on the prevalent mental health challenges faced by mothers, and the critical need for accessible, inclusive support systems.

Mothers today are managing unprecedented levels of stress and anxiety. From the pressures of work-life balance to the isolation of the pandemic, the mental health of mothers has reached a crisis point. Without adequate resources and community support, many are struggling to cope with postpartum depression, burnout, and a profound sense of loneliness.

Now more than ever, we must come together to de-stigmatize maternal mental health and empower mothers with the tools they need to thrive. By providing on-site childcare, wellness programming, and peer support networks, motherhouse collective aims to create a holistic ecosystem that nurtures the whole person.

Through this multifaceted approach, we strive to not only alleviate the immediate challenges faced by mothers, but also cultivate long-term resilience and self-care practices that will sustain them for years to come.

  • Approximately 1 in 8 women in the U.S. experience symptoms of postpartum depression. This rate can be higher among women of color, low-income mothers, and those with less access to healthcare.

  • Anxiety disorders, including postpartum anxiety, are also prevalent among mothers, with estimates suggesting that around 15-20% of new mothers experience significant anxiety. Economic stress and the demands of balancing work and childcare lead to increased rates of depression and anxiety.

  • Many mothers face a lack of support from partners, families, and communities, contributing to feelings of isolation and overwhelm.

There is also a lack of trust in childcare that prevents women from utilizing traditional childcare.

The Real Cost of the Childcare Crisis

The lack of accessible, affordable childcare is having a significant impact on women's careers and the economy. According to a US Senate Committee report, 46% of unemployed women attributed their departure from the workforce to childcare issues. In 2022, childcare challenges cost the US economy $122 billion in lost wages, productivity, and tax revenue. Nearly one in four parents reported being fired from their jobs due to childcare breakdowns.

Join us in creating a supportive ecosystem where every mother feels connected, empowered, and able to pursue her goals while nurturing her family.
